The Department of textile designing was established in year 2003 …The course is designed to cater the need of students in the current social context with a view to enable them to cope with the Rapid Demands of the Society and to meet the Challenges of the Multiple Roles of the Home and the Professional World.

Labs

The Electronics and Communication Department consists of following labs:

WEAVING LAB: Itis used to introduce the different types of dobby, Jaquert looms. The weaving lab has a piano card cutting machine which is used for designing the fabric. Students make shawls on the hand looms in this weaving lab.

TESTING LAB: - The testing lab is used for testing of fibres, yarn or fabric and their identification is clone in the testing lab.
PROJECTION MICROSCOPE: - The projection microscope is used for the identification of the fabric and their blends.Inorder to find their properties suitable for the processing of the fabric.

CHEMICAL: - Various types of chemical are used for various processes like scouring of yarn, bleaching of yarn, degumming of yarn, desining of yarn.

EQUIPMENT:-Various types of equipments are used during testing of fabric
