This department was established in year 2005.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE COURSE:
Knowledge and skill of operating, handling, care and preventive maintenance of various laboratory equipments.
Ability to collect, prepare, transport and preserve clinical samples such as blood, urine, stool, sputum, swabs etc and carry out lab. Investigations for diagnostic purpose
Knowledge of reference values for various types of clinical investigations and knowledge of quality assurance,
Knowledge about lab. management and record keeping,
Knowledge of automation in Medical lab technology,
Ability to make use of computer information storage and retrieval pertaining to lab. investigations,
Understanding importance of human relations, professionals ethics, Medico-legal aspects and communication skills and effective functioning in the field of medical lab technology

Scope

1. Pass out can work as technicians in hospital, nursing homes, diagnostic centre, medical colleges, 2.paramedical institutes, health centers and dispensaries.
3. Can work in national institute of communicable diseases
4. Can establish their own clinical lab.
5. Can work in pharmaceutical industries dealing in analytical kits and instruments.
6. Can go for higher studies.
7. Can work in health organization (WHO) projects

The Electronics and Communication Department consists of following labs:
HAEMATOLOGY LAB: In this lab various types of blood tests are performed like HB estimation, TLC\DLC, Total RBC count, Total Platelet count, ESR, PCV, Reticulocytr count, Blood grouping Prepartion of LE Cells, Coagulogram, Bleeding time, Cloting time
MICROBIOLOGY LAB: In this lab culturing and serological tests are performed like Culture : 1 sputum 2 urine 3 pus BIOCHEMICAL TESTS: catalase, coagulase SEROLOGICAL TESTS: 1 widal test 2 VDRL test 3 RPR test 4 CRP test 5 HIV spot test 6 HBsAg strip test 7 ASO test
BIO-CHEMISTRY LAB: In this lab following tests are performed: Blood sugar, Urea, Creatinine, Triglycerides, Cholesterol serum, Proteins, SGOT-SGPT, Bilirubin, Uric acid
HISTOPATHOLOGY LAB: PROCESSING OF THE TISSUE MICROTOMY STAINING(H & E) RESOURCES AVAILABLE Equipments: Flame Photometer, Compound Microscopes, Monocular & Binocular), Colorimeters, Incubators, Hot Air Ovens, Water baths, Autoclave, Microtomes, Hot plates, pH Meters, Colony Counters
